Great Double Date

As a Christmas gift, Ric and I gave Mom and Dad a gift certificate to Hampton's, a restaurant in the JH Adams Inn in High Point. Wednesday evening we all got together to use it. The inn is very old and has been a family's home, a YWCA, even a funeral home! Several years ago it was purchased and restored and now is very close to how it was originally when JH Adams built it for his family. There are many old pictures throughout the inn that show it as it was originally. It is on the list of historical places in NC. We had a great time, and the only thing better than the food was the company!
Sherm and I had a great time acting like two peas in a pod....

Mom and I got to spend some good mother/daughter time together.

Ric enjoyed being the customer and being treated to great food and good service.

The Staton clan...small but mighty!!

Ric and Dad both happened to wear their leather blazers....mom and I didn't get the memo to dress alike..

We enjoyed live music from this gentleman as we ate dinner. Mom could name every song he played as soon as he started it!

Billy, our waiter, who took great care of us and was lots of fun.

The girls ordered salmon, and the guys ordered steak. The inn prides itself on fancy presentation and the food was delicious!

And of course, dessert! This is a chocolate tort with strawberries, blueberries, and a scoop of vanilla walnut ice cream. I plan to walk and ride my bike as much as possible the next few days to work this off! Ric and I shared it and Mom and Dad got a creme brule'....Yummy!!!
