On Thursday, Feb.26, Archdale said goodbye to a friend and neighbor as Tim Terrell lost his battle with Leukemia at age 59. Tim owned and operated Twin Roads grocery just up the street from all of us, and his customers always felt like friends. Tim and his wife Linda were at the store all the time, and usually one or more of the family dogs would be waiting in the car. Sometimes when stray dogs would wander up to the store Tim would wind up taking them home with him. He used to let me cash checks there, instead of having to go to the ATM, earning the store the nickname "Bank of Tim". Every year for as long as I can remember he has employed high school boys to help out his longtime employees, Melvin and the gang. Both of Maria's brothers spent a summer working for Tim.

Tim was buried in his beloved Charleston, where he and Linda planned to retire and where his daughter lives. He served in Vietnam and his service included military honors. Thanks for all you did for our little end of Hwy. 62, Tim! In your words, "be good, and we'll see you soon!!"
